There are plausible allegations of #childRape against the President of the #USA and the firehose of bullshit and attention spans are such that it registers meekly
-
@fflyn @benroyce It feels that way but it was never that way.
We now know that there was rampant child abuse in everything from Hollywood to the Catholic Church at that time.
No doors were kicked down. On the contrary, the leadership of all those institutions protected their own, even if they were pervs.
The media was 100% owned and there was no way to tell the public.
What has changed is the Internet. A lot more people know how rotten this culture is at the top.

Well if it is up for lying, Trump made that into a habit and nobody seems to care anymore...
Lewinsky was 24, not 13...
@xs4me2 @FransVeldman @benroyce Ppl do care, it's that the people that do care don't hold the means to do anything about it today. We can change that though, and I think we will in time.

@benroyce @FransVeldman @xs4me2 No, its literally what he was impeached for. It's nothing like the whataboutism you tried to slander me with.
@Scrimshaw9 @FransVeldman @xs4me2
Right. It had nothing to do with anything else. You win. Uh huh.

@benroyce @FransVeldman @xs4me2 That's what Congress impeached him for. I'm sorry it doesn't fit your narrative, but if you look it actually does fit your narrative bc there are plenty of docs in the files from the 90s and no one dared pull that thread bc of how that thread connected everyone else in power. He was not impeached for anything with interns though. He was impeached for lying under oath to Congress. His public disgrace was bc of what he did with interns, but that is different.

I'm not interested in rehashing a fight from 30 years ago. I simply resent topic shift because it's dishonest. I'm not defending nor attacking Bill Clinton. I don't fucking care about Bill Clinton
I have to register my distaste with this bullshit "the essential matter of a proceeding has nothing to do with the proceeding." I dislike this bending ourselves into pretzels over technicalities to pretend an event was about something else than it obviously was

@benroyce @FransVeldman @xs4me2 That's important part of the discussion, that he wasn't impeached for anything with interns.
You are the one that's going off course and rehashing a fight. You could have just been like yeah that's right and moved on.

Thank you for just completely ignoring everything I said and acting like this pathetic exchange you freely choose to join is all on me

As an early member of Generation X, I grew up with values that are often completely at odds with those of today. How can it be that a wider part of society ignores child abuse? In the past, people would have kicked down the door if a politician or even a president had molested children, but today these filthy pigs are protected. What the hell is wrong with this world?
