    He's completely lost the plot.

He's blaming the PM of Norway for him not getting the Nobel Prize (Nobel ≠ Norwegian govt).

He thinks that Norway has control over what Denmark does with Greenland.
    (Norway ≠ Denmark).

These are the deranged ramblings of a demented old man.

If there are any grown-ups left in America, now is the time to take back the wheel.

@xtaldave The US had boats that landed in Greenland long before the US existed?

Oh no me neither, but some people have a default assumption that people in power must all be somehow secretly clever 😞

It's not helped by the media refusing to make leaders look stupid even when they do stupid things.

@xtaldave Note that in this spasm of dementia Trump's reiteration of the notion that #Denmark has ownership of #Greenland because a boat landed there hundreds of years ago betrays his 19th century convictions that one nation can own another and that the people who live in Greenland have no right to determine their own future. #Trump

@xtaldave There are written documents, though. The U.S. agreed to let Denmark have Greenland in exchange for the U.S. Virgin Islands.

@xtaldave not to mention the Treaty of the Danish West Indies
                  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_the_Danish_West_Indies

"During 1916, the two sides agreed to a sale price of $25,000,000, and the United States accepted a Danish demand for a declaration stating that they would "not object to the Danish Government extending their political and economic interests to the whole of Greenland".[12]"

So yes, there *are* written documents, which the US ratified.

@xtaldave I have problems with the narrative of #dementia because it takes all responsability from #Trump.

He *always* had a bad, very exploiting, ruthless character, and now, with the death-cult of fascism, it becomes worse. It's not a sudden illness, no sign for dementia.

He is fully responsable, state him responsable, fine him, impeach him!
It's also all the puppeteers behind him, he doesn't act alone.
And if you search for a mental disorder: pathological narcissm would fit much better.

@NatureMC @xtaldave Yeah he's always been King of the Pig People.

I remember when he destroyed Bonwit Teller's flagship store, he promised to donate the irreplaceable architectural fixtures to the Met, then had them destroyed. 1980.

He's just letting other people (Miller et al.) play his game for him, he's the front man. The dementia narrative may be soothing. And whatever he does have, is just a continuation of his mania for destruction.

@dazzr @shadowdancer @xtaldave Also, I'm not too sure if they can keep the whole base going without him. That's one of the disadvantages of using a politioreligious (I need a better word for this) cult for taking and retaining power. Without their cult leader, it will be hard for someone to just step in and say "hey, I'm the new leader now" and get the same results.

I'm not even sure how many of the loyalists (who swore fealty to Trump not to Project 2025) will still blindly obey...

@nazokiyoubinbou @dazzr @shadowdancer @xtaldave this is the wrong view because it assumes he is the leader. he's not and never was, he's merely a malleable but petulant disposable man child puppet for the powers that be.
