@dacig @drahardja @skyfire747 @nomenloony And before anyone beats me to it, I'll up it to multiple AIs prompting each other and shout, #Moltbook
Where people are even too lazy to interact with each other. So their AIs talk to each other.

@dacig @drahardja @skyfire747 @nomenloony feeling lazier? Get another ai to prompt the ai.
@chrastecky @Schneems @torgo this is unfortunately a fair point - particularly with obscure dependencies used in ways they may not be designed for.
The real selling point is that you can control your software if you invest the time and effort or money into it.
I think the original attempt at marketing undercut foss developers that way.
@drahardja @skyfire747 @nomenloony the problem with ai is that if you're smart enough to ask the question, you should be smart enough to find the bullshit answers.
@nomenloony my word...
@amirbkhan 2/2
Both implementations of democracy and the ideal are constantly under threat. Now more than any time in my lifetime.
The nature of #freesoftware and #opensource is to be against closed, proprietary systems. Tools for individuals. It has ALWAYS been a resistance to closed, proprietary systems.
In that regard, it echoes more #volunteerism than #democracy. That it is a tool democracy can and should use should not be conflated, imho.

#freesoftware and #opensource will continue, regardless IMHO. They exist in dictatorships, socialist and other regimes. They are sturdier because they chase an ideal of democracy.
We tend to say #democracy is under threat, and to a large extent this is true - the very nature of the ideal.
But when people use it, they sometimes confuse the ideal with the varied implementations which were already broken by design when compared with the ideal.
@dansup yeah, I had a bit of a problem with the code when registering... I expect it was a condition created by email getting to me late (bounced off the wrong bamboo patch. Lol).
Will look into it today again. Hopefully I am part of that count.
Yeah, you should be proud! I watched it grow from a distance.
@randahl epic.
@alissaazar teargas in lower temps is really, really harsh. It's not the teargas. It's the human body.
Less evaporation from sweat, less pain response in cold temperatures, etc.
I could get into the physiology a little (it's been a few decades), but yeah. It gets exponentially worse between cold and stress responses.
@rufustheduck everyone has strong opinions of how they use Mastodon, some feel like telling others how others should use Mastodon.
If they give advice you agree with, take it. If you ain't sure, do what you did - ask.
The rest, I have found, is cheap kindling.
Nice cat.
@alexandrageese it is much simpler.
Log out. Use emails. Use websites. It is not rocket science.
@artemis no, it is not just you. And thinking I would be there long enough to need to puddle (your words are good!) Would be optimistic.
I smoke, so I walk away as often as I need to. It is oddly like getting oxygen. When I quit smoking.... I imagine I still 'will'.
@vkc well, if they smell funny I might say something. I reserve that right.
@dansup be careful. Don't think for a second that there is not an #ICE or ICE adjacent actor passively pulling toots here.
I warned some in 2005 at the Mobile Convergence of that, particularly in the context of protest. Because protest can also appear as terrorism by some actors, which even in 2005 was apparent in the world.
To get good Intel, they will passively collect until the value they can convert from what they collected exceeds what they think they gain.
Be safe.
@unir well played!
@randahl the poetry of mixing domestic with foreign policy is lost on those that do both equally poorly.
