@DirtyAnCom @ptoothfish absolutely! And not just hated; turns out a blind reach for a knob (or, forgive my human-factors fanboying masquerading as nostalgia, a row of 6 fat station buttons) is *safer* than looking away from the road at a touch screen.

@ptoothfish - if we did cars like tech does software, folks would have given ‘em up and gone back to walking.

@lerxst @terminaltilt that’s like saying ‘right to repair’ == everyone needs to be a blacksmith; not my point at all.

I’m just crediting the many (often unacknowledged) maker-friendly alternatives to techbros that seek to hoover up all out money and data.

@terminaltilt considering I can get work done & have fun with any of fifty different sbcs (pi & its competitors, arduino, esp32) this isn’t a dire risk.
