@GoodNewsGreyShoes@mastodon.art @brouhaha@mastodon.social @drdirtbag@mountains.social @Linux_in_a_Bit@infosec.exchange and you know, I think a lot of us aren't even used to there BEING an available manual. I'm used to it NOW, sort of, but when I compare the manuals that come with modern devices and software ("plug in" or "reboot") compared with ones for earlier devices ("here is how to deconstruct and reconstruct each piece of the device in explicit detail, combined with part numbers and specifications for individual parts")... let's just say it took me a while to get used to the idea that the manual had any value.

What's the most common complaint I've heard about Linux? -
Chuck Schumer is betraying you in real time.@AnarchoNinaWrites@jorts.horse Oh look, an opportunity to call my senators (again) and tell them that Schumer's 'demands' are things they should already be doing and that instead they should demand Schumer resign from his position as minority leader.

doing what I can to strike here from Portland, today. If you know someone working at Palantir, shame them. Disinvite them from stuff. Don't deliver their groceries, don't let them into your book club, refuse them service, don't wish them happy birthday. Boycott them from everything.

doing what I can to strike here from Portland, today.People hiding in their homes or those dying in ICE custody can't wait until mid-terms for action... and that action can't be "oh, we'll train them more"
They're being trained to do exactly what the federal government wants them to do. Anyone selling "more training" needs to be forced out of government. -
doing what I can to strike here from Portland, today.doing what I can to strike here from Portland, today. Fucking solidarity for everyone else doing the same, particularly in Minnesota. Everything I'm seeing is inspiring as hell.
We need to abolish ICE, now. We need to forcibly reform the DNC into a goddamn opposition party. We need a general strike and if it's gonna happen, today is surely the first step.
Any politician who doesn't swear on something sacred to them that they'll work hard to abolish ICE, eliminate the oligarchy, denazify the US and deconstruct the carceral state can get fucked.
