    We’re keeping our drinking water safe. 💧

    From today, EU countries must monitor PFAS levels in drinking water. PFAS are long-lasting chemicals that can be harmful, if levels are too high.

    If that happens authorities must act and inform people until the water is safe again.

    Because everyone deserves access to safe drinking water.

      @EUCommission

      Because of the agricultural policy of you, the Commission, the water is NOT safe, but is threatened by glyphosate, nitrate, and other substances.

      PFAS are monitored, but the Commission does not want to ban PFAS from production. As a result, many tons of PFAS are released into the EU every year.

      @OhWeh @EUCommission In long chains (e.g. Teflon) these are relatively safe to consume and pass through the body instead of accumulating, just the short versions (leaked during production) are harmful to humans.

        That is definitely fake news. In large parts of Europe, for example, the water is not drinkable because PFAS was used in firefighting foam, among other things.

                    @EUCommission Iets met geen woorden maar daden.

                    Het is hier in Nederland echt totaal mis. Boeren en industrie mogen bijna alles. Onze waterkwaliteit is heel erg slecht. Mest wordt veel te veel gespoten. De industrie loost maar raak. En onze regering? Demissionair en zwaar op de hand van boeren. Bbb is opgericht door veevoeder fabrikanten.

                    Wij Nederlanders zijn dom genoeg om daarop te stemmen.

                    Drinkwater staat ook onder druk door PFAS en nitraten.
                    Verander dat svp!!

                              PFAS are in every garment through fabric finishing. They migrate through our skins. When will they be proscribed as in food containers?

                                        We’re keeping our drinking water safe. 💧

                                        From today, EU countries must monitor PFAS levels in drinking water. PFAS are long-lasting chemicals that can be harmful, if levels are too high.

                                        If that happens authorities must act and inform people until the water is safe again.

                                        Because everyone deserves access to safe drinking water.

                                          Can the EU please add manure to the mandatory inspections? We (the Dutch) are drowning in pig/cow/chicken shit!
