@randahl @Impertinenzija meanwhile a helmet commemorating fallen Ukrainian sportsmen gets you disqualified because it's too political. Make it make sense.

@karelbrits @randahl Oh, it makes perfect sense to me, after thoroughly reading this person's bio on Wikipedia and knowing that this is the cloth they cut their officials from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avery_Brundage

Just to give you a taste: "Brundage wrote to a German correspondent regretting that Leni Riefenstahl's film about the Berlin Olympics, Olympia, could not be commercially shown in the United States, as "unfortunately the theaters and moving picture companies are almost all owned by Jews"."

@mkoek @randahl Nope, that's a stylization of the Brandenburg Gate, the angel lady's laurel wreath on a stick has an iron cross at it's core and an eagle sitting on top (that's Prussian, as Nazis liked to see themselves as Prussia's successors). But the artist clearly clipped the angel lady's huge wings: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburger_Tor#/media/Datei:Brandenburg_Gate_Quadriga_at_Night.jpg

But the gilded bloke in the background is clearly and purposefully inspired by heroic muscle god Nazi style the way Breker and Riefenstahl did it.

@mkoek @randahl That's so awesome. I was just 14 at the time and I was so happy for them. You might remember the Brandenburg Gate (just in case you have seen it) differently, because they de-prussified it in 1958 and then it was re-prussified again, so the laurel got its iron cross and its crowned eagle back (I just learned that today, when I was browsing the gallery I showed you). ^^

@Impertinenzija @randahl I did see it but I'm a little hazy on the details. 35 years do things to your memory. 🙂
