This is why I dumped the bridge. If they're welcoming and verifying accounts from fascists, they're the Nazi bar. I'm not risking anyone here by "federating" with fascists. -

Being on Bluesky allows ICE to recruit there, spread propaganda there, and follow anti-ICE accounts to more easily get information about protests or people to target. From ICE's point of view, there's no reason to not have an account there.Bluesky and its fediverse bridges are now dangerous to anyone ICE may target (which may end up being a much wider section of the population than currently).

I think it's the algorithm that some people want to have. But that's also what makes it so weak to manipulation.

Curious questions in this context: What would happen if #ICE tried to create an account i.e. on mastodon.social?
1. Would the community rules prevent this?
2. Would the account be active until a number of users would report content that actually offends their community rules?
3. If they can also verify prove access to ICE's official website - wouldn't it be "verified" automatically?
4. How many servers would actually degenerate from Mastodon's biggest server because of one account?

And if ICE registered a Mastodon account with a smaller server whose community rules would not prohibit ICE's content - how long would it take for servers that represent more than half of the Fediverse's users to actually defederate that server?Just take sure I'm not mistaken on this issue: I despise ICE's actions and the political agenda it stands for.
I'm just not sure whether the Fediverse could guarantee a "better" reaction to an attempt to register an account here

I'm just not sure whether the Fediverse could guarantee a "better" reaction to an attempt to register an account here@tetrapyloctomist @Grutjes depends on the individual server / admin ... the big instances usually allow anything which is not against the law in their jurisdiction.
but you can always block accounts or even complete instances -

@hakendran@social.heise.de @populistensohn@climatejustice.social @Grutjes@mstdn.social Ich glaub, es geht darum, daß man sie überhaupt auf die Plattform läßt. Kuck mal, wem der Account folgt... Und wir wissen alle, wofür sie den Acc nutzen werden. Kann man schon kritisch sehen.
