The United States: Our president cannot be held accountable for his crimes in a US court of law. A president has absolute immunity.

Also The United States: Now watch us kidnap a president of a totally different country, to hold him accountable for his crimes… in a US court of law.

Yep, common thieves... what a disgrace. Time to organize rebellion instead of bitching.

They enjoy this. Their only value measurement is:

"What can WE get away with?"

To them, the hypocrisy is nothing bad, it's a flex of their power.

All slopes are slippery but that is not an excuse to not act.

Also, I haven’t said Trump was right to do it. The question I have to ask everyone is, if that was Putin, would you say the same things?

I also hold that dictator types learn from inaction and by doing this Trump is more likely to take extreme measures elsewhere that are just all bad.

"Here's the fucked part about the "Maduro is bad" discourse - when have we ever done a regime change operation that improved anyone's lives? When? Which time did we take out the "bad guy" and the people we were "liberating" were like "thank you Yankee swine; you saved us!" When has the general population of a country we regime changed thanked us for bombing them?"

For the record. Trump is a cock.

@taatm @randahl in Spain the far right says the president is not legit and must be jailed... because they weren't elected. That doesn't mean the current president didn't follow the rules to become president. So by the far right idea, the US should invade Spain to kidnap the president... when he didn't break the law to become it. Don't you see the problem? Imagine another country where the opposition asks China to kidnap the president saying "s/he is not the president (because we say so)". Would it be right for China to do the same the US has done in Venezuela?

@randahl But the President of the US can be held accountable in another nations court ... Right? So every time the President is traveling out of US, the President is at risk ... Right? The same must be with the soldiers, government and others, there making "criminal acts" in the eyes of other nations... Am I total out of course?

Here in Canada we have 'Maple MAGA'...about maybe 5 to 10 percent of the population. They'd be overjoyed if the Americans 'abducted' our Prime Minister and stuck him in Rikers...and you'd hear the same discourse you're hearing from *some* Venezuelans.

Who the American media would Amplify...right?

                                      Trump in a nutshell:

                                      "Who's gonna stop me?"

He is entirely unaware, being the proud owner of but half a braincell, that he has now set a new precedent in international conflict.

Both Putin and Netanyahu are on wanted lists ...

@PeterLG @randahl not just them, but leaders and presidents of most countries in the world are now seriously at risk of abduction by any tinpot leader who disagrees with them.

@taatm I fully agree with that point. I just find it ironic that the US administration — led by a convicted felon — wants to play global policeman.

                                          @randahl Absolutely.
The right thing, done the wrong way for the wrong reasons. Especially after the MAGA propaganda about isolationism and not helping Ukraine.

It was against international law. It was against US law. They have no post-plan. They don’t care. Trump probably wants a new friendly dictator. The only undeniable good thing was the current dictator was removed.

It was probably done as Medura was looking at Chinese long range missiles to threaten Texas oil refineries to prevent such an operation as this. A strike while they can.
