No, a duplicate explanation of what the code is doing is not what comments are for.

Comments are more for "why" one method or choice than another, sometimes "why not", than "what".

Except doc comments, which are closer to spec i.e. "what". The code itself is "how", and it doesn't necessarily come via a verbal description in natural language.

@nomenloony which reminds me that for the practical element of our Physics exam at school, we had to complete just three basic tasks to get the top grade, one of which was wiring a plug - they might as well have given us the grades just for turning up tbh. And then I see this... ‍️

@nomenloony as a kid in the UK, I was at my aunts house and a power plug had its back removed. I plugged it in, with the palm of my hand on the contacts, to see what would happen. Massive explosion, kicked across the room. There's a blue/green colour I saw that doesn't exist. I can taste it, still, today. I'm not even entirely sure I survived.

@nomenloony Just FYI, as someone not from the UK this post does not really make it clear if the second pic with black background is correct or also an incorrect example. No, it's not obvious without using a separate source, esp as the first is labelled "correct", I just assume it's not.

4 wires would be the old 3-phase cable without the neutral. Not sure that is allowed any more, was a while since I was in school and already then the teacher wasn't very happy teaching us that one
