    @mcc
    I did a small survey of options at work a while back, as did another colleague, and various people have found various options they like that weren't on the lists at the time (too new, or too obscure, or focused on different things).

    I checked and no one ever mentioned PDM! But it also doesn't seem like it's disliked, or inactive, or unstable? I'm finding it uniquely difficult to find someone on the internet saying it's bad. I find this interesting and very "Python packaging experience".

      @iamed2 I doubt anyone thinks it's bad but it wouldn't surprise me to find that Poetry is much more popular

        @mcc sounds like one of May's polls. 😂
        As a long-covider I can confirm: "sleep" is a satisfying hobby. 🤭

          Amusingly, I did not participate in the Rust Developers Survey this year because there was a question about which RFCs are the most important to you and then I spent the rest of the evening reading RFCs and forgot to finish the survey

          Okay I guess that's not really that amusing. It happened tho

            @mcc honestly these days i would rank "sleeping" as a hobby, it's something i get to do sporadically and i always look forward to it

              @mcc I’ve moved completely to uv. It handles venvs and Python versions much better. Poetry last I tried didn’t even attempt Python version management.

              @cameron @mcc I have also been using uv for hobby projects and it is the first Python project management tool that I have not only not actively hated, but actually *liked* using.

                      @mcc This is probably one of those things where the answers visibly don't fit, but people kept writing them in and generating a ton of survey noise parsing through the write-in "Other" results
