Hey, PS5 friends, what are your favourite *local* co-op games for two players?

@Edent as you may well know, my favourite “co-op” game is “the other half plays whatever he wants, and I sit next to him on the sofa with the walkthrough open giving him arsey hints like I’m Richard O’Brien on the Crystal Maze”

-
@Edent oh I know how you work by now ;]
my faves are mostly mentioned, but would be: overcooked, heavenly bodies, human fall flat, any lego game ;]

@skylar I see you much more as…

(No, I don't have Steam. No, I don't want to play online. No, I don't want to play *against* someone. Yes, I'm playing with an adult. Yes, I have all the Lego games.)
@Edent Has anyone suggested Out of Space yet? You and your friends play the part of a cleaning crew on an alien-infested space station. Gotta push back the alien goop with buckets and mops, and restore power to the station as you go.

@Edent Jamestown is a classic vertically-scrolling shoot-'em-up in the style of Tyrian, 1942, etc.

@Edent What about Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends? I _think_ they both support local multiplayer (Legends certainly does). I had some New Super Mario Bros.-style fun with those when they came out.

@Edent Speaking of which, what about New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. U? Even if you don't have hardware, those emulate pretty well these days, I think.
Ah, right, PS5. That does make things more difficult. (But I just double-checked my other recommendations, and it seems like they're all available on the platform.)

@Edent Moving Out is a lot of fun - although perhaps a bit similar to Overcooked in terms of frantic short gameplay.
(While not strictly local co-op, Blue Prince, Outer Wilds & Tunic have provided hours of entertainment when played in a group puzzley / pass the controller gameplay way here.)

@Edent for a short game? Overcooked. For a long game, Stardew Valley
