This week was a bit too much. There's lots of despair in the air. So, if you have anything nice to share, now is the time. I'll start with sharing a photo of a very tired cat who definitely spent all night protecting our sleep.

@nina_kali_nina our regional power grid (portions of Kansas, Missouri, and neighboring states) generated 48% of its electricity today with wind power. It's been quite gusty today.

@Aprazeth Truth to be told, I didn't enjoy my playdate at all. I think I don't like the screen, after all

Honesty, that's fair. It really would benefit from a backlight or external light.You could use the SDK or mirror to play it that way but that kind of defeats the purpose I suppose.
Also, don't try the mirror on Linux because old library requirements (no flatpak either) SDK works though

@Aprazeth I wanted to love PlayDate, I even got SDK before many, had a chance to interact with some incredible folks in the private Discord, but when I finally got a physical device, I realised that there are very few specific places in my life where I can comfortably play it, which is a bit sad.

@nina_kali_nina @Aprazeth i honestly just don't see the appeal of the playdate, it's absolutely overpriced for what it is. you're much better off getting any game boy or DS at that price -

True, I was enamored with the size primarily for the Playdate. Price is indeed way too hefty for that alone.
Refurbished/second hand Gameboy easily goes for 120/150 Euro these days (from a shop/reseller). And that's before any accessories/games of course
Ugh! At least I have my original NES and the games from when I was growing up
