Dammit people, add alt text to your images! So many times I see awesome art or cool comics, but can't boost it, because it's not accessible.
@numb_comfortably I will often post an image from my phone, not alt-text it until I can get to it on my computer. Usually, only a few minutes later. Alt-text doesn't work properly on my phone. I always use alt-text, but not always immediately due to technical issues.

@numb_comfortably I’m sorry. I’m audhd and sometimes I just don’t have the mental strength to describe my pic. I try (when I remember) to #alttextme. I know most doesn’t because laziness. But Some of us don’t because,…. Disability. Before you just chancel us. Ask us. I might have energy when you ask. I really want to be accessible. So please, sometimes there is more behind a missing #alttext

@numb_comfortably and the "no alt text" orange warning triangle is 'right there' when you add a picture too ...
Maybe it's more people using scripted/automated uploads ?? -

@RegGuy I totally understand it can be really inconvenient to do it from a small device. Thank you for adding the alt text afterwards.

Has something changed on Mastodon? Is it the influx of new users? Accessibility used to be the cornerstone of the Fediverse.
@numb_comfortably nah, the alttext quota was never really good, except of some instances enforcing it.
If people don't react or react pissed if someone asks for alttext, I got used to blocking them. -

@RegGuy @numb_comfortably depending on the alt text, I will speak it into a note then copy it into the text. It’s easier to edit that way as well.

I give great alt-text. No one just wants to see my shit in any spectrum. 🤪
