@andrewstroehlein When Musk purchased it. No need to see how it would turn out, we all knew who he was already. All govts should be off of there, being there is a moral stain. All govts should ban it, prosecute it, and seize its assets

@andrewstroehlein I never even used it, technically I do have few instances of creating an account and deleting it after few days just to see what Twitter is about.

I posted a lot on Twitter - but never on X. His purchase of the platform was enough for me to leave along with a sizeable number of other mastodon posters

@andrewstroehlein when musk took over, I grew up in S.A. and know the type. Sadly I was very right in my suppositions. I left the country in 1981 to escape Apartheid...

I left twitter as musk was stepping into his new role as king of his *X* kingdom; there was a sudden CREEPY feeling there & I knew it was time to exit.
I'll never recognize twitter as *X*!!! -

@andrewstroehlein: speaking of which, I asked my government representatives about what ministries, parliament and the president are going to do with these facts. Planning to make a write–up as soon as I get first responses.

Stopped already quite a bit earlier than Persona A. When they stopped moderating racist and inflammatory language, and were ok with crazy conspiracy theories.
Pretty soon after it changed the name.

@andrewstroehlein California Highway Patrol still insists on posting Amber Alerts etc on X. A few of us filled out their feedback form asking them to go elsewhere but nothing has happened yet

(Seriously, it did not escape my notice that Twitter was the turning point where news outlets went from treating the Internet like The New Rock and Roll to actually suddenly abruptly liking it.)

In my case, once Musk let the all the white supremist and neo-nazi accounts back on, I'd find an ugly post on one, then post YOUR AD HERE, tagging coca-cola, mcdonalds, disney, lockheed, etc.I was banned within 12 hrs. Been on fedi since 2023 with ZERO regrets.

In my case, once Musk let the all the white supremist and neo-nazi accounts back on, I'd find an ugly post on one, then post YOUR AD HERE, tagging coca-cola, mcdonalds, disney, lockheed, etc.I was banned within 12 hrs. Been on fedi since 2023 with ZERO regrets.
@clintruin @MatthewNewell @andrewstroehlein When I was banned, Twitter was still Twitter, but Trump was in office for the first time, and Nazi Twitter was growing fast. I tweeted a couple of things like, "Only a dead fascist is a good one," and "The only platform we should give to Nazis is a wooden one with a trapdoor and a noose."
