From my European perspective the most shocking thing about these ICE shootings in the US is that the shooters can simply walk away, step into a car and drive off.

@jwildeboer What I really wonder is that - given the amount of firearms in the US - that no one seems to use them againt #ICE bastards.
If someone would try to deport a family member or a good friend and I had a gun I'd definitely use it.@darthvader42 And then your whole family would likely die in the crossfire from these agents. Guns are never a solution. "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." — Isaac Asimov

@jwildeboer I consider them as final option.

@jwildeboer I don't see how anybody can look at this and claim it'd be any different than Iran, Russia or North Korea, really.

@jwildeboer no they don’t. They’re fleeing the scene of a crime. Murder is still illegal in this country no matter what President fucktard says, whether it be a civilian or a gestapo agent.

@jwildeboer What I consider even more dangerous is, when government tries to cover these incidents with utter bullshit. I consider this being the actual scary part... -

@jwildeboer Indeed. The complete lack of accountability is beyond belief.

@sayonaraminasan Legal experts are quite subdued about going after these agents. See for example https://edition.cnn.com/2026/01/08/politics/ice-immunity-jd-vance-minneapolis

If someone would try to deport a family member or a good friend and I had a gun I'd definitely use it.@darthvader42 @jwildeboer The USians who have all those firearms are climbing all over each other to join ICE.
Everybody took them at their word, and didn't listen to what they said to each other.

@sayonaraminasan @jwildeboer Laws only matter if they're enforced. And they're not.

My US, Minnesota perspective, too. -

@drwho they will be enforced one way another. The body count hasn’t risen past the critical threshold yet, but one it does you can count on there being justice done either officially through the state or by the general population. @jwildeboer
