A moderator of the discussion threads under this petition asked not to refer to the times of »national socialism«. The parallels to pre-fascist times are an important argument to do anything one can do to fight those lists and the reactionary thinking behind it. This mod text, and my experience say that this won't change anything via the Bundestag and its petition board. The only thing that can have an impact in a longer perspective is the publicity. On the other hand, the state stores lists of queer and allied people.
Don't get me wrong, I love democracy. Just would like to have it free from the choking grip of capitalism, so, have a real chance.

The point is that once the quota of 30k signatures is reached, the creator of the petition has to be heard by the petition board, and at 100k even the federal parlament.
- Big amounts of signatures on the official petition portal force the parlament to recognize it and send a strong signal.
If it was my decision, it would be completely illegal to store any deadnames at all and it would be a felony similar to doxxing a crime withness in a protection program, with severe penalties for the attempt and the perpertrator being sentenced to bear all the costs, including preemptive relocation on a short notice.

Und für den wird man ohne vorherige ID-Kontrolle fotografiert. Entsprechend einfach ist es, einen Führerschein mit eigenem Bild, aber falscher Identität zu kriegen.

Also the official petition & portal would not have a huge-ass dropdown at the signup page if it wasn't permissible as non-citizen/resident to register and none of the Terms of Service mandate signatories to be residents or citizens of Germany.
All it does mandate is correct details at signup.
All signatures are pseudonymous unless you explicitly choose to be listed by name (which is entirely your decision.
Also one can withdraw from signing at any point in time with the same convenience (no Idea why you would, but I just want everyone to know!)
So yeah, please do sign the petition even if you are from overseas / outside of Germany.
