@paulk It's actually colder here. I checked. We sometimes had below -20 in Oslo when I lived there. That's very rare here. I also lived in Northern Norway for a bit, and the coldest we had then was -35. I was not outside in that cold, but I did spend time outdoors in -28.

@oschonrock Pipes freeze and crack, start leaking, then it gets colder and the water freezes. Happens quite a lot in cabins and houses not permanently occupied in Norway.

The coldest spot when I drove to work just now was -15 °C, which is quite cold for where I live now, but Oslo could get much colder (and probably is right now).
