Reminder: Homeless people are not the problem, but the evidence of the problem.
That problem is capitalism failing at the most basic possible function of an economic system.

US police don't exist to protect you from criminals; they exist to protect wealthy people from YOU.
This tells us that even with programs such as Affirmative Action or DEI in place, less qualified white men are getting jobs over African-American men.
Those programs only partially alleviate the problem of less qualified white men getting jobs over others.
So what do you think happens when you take away things such as Affirmative Action and/or DEI?
That is right, the systems start selecting people because they are white and male, not because they are qualified.

The US government ended DEI and immediately became dumber and less competent. What did we learn?
There's a study that gets repeated every so often. Someone sends identical resumes (or the modern equivalent) to many companies to see which ones get offers. The resumes are identical except for the racially-coded names.
The white-sounding names get more job offers.
Mind you, these studies were done while Affirmative Action and/or DEI programs were in place.
