This morning I cycled a bit on streets that were frozen over - slippery enough that getting on the bike was a challenge. Riding was relatively safe, thanks to studded tires.

@pekkatahkola I've been to Oulu; stayed there for a night, worked on the airport tarmac on a September day. I no longer remember why it was so important to be there, but I liked the town, and memories of some places are still vivid after 20 years.

@cwicseolfor I've known Americans from different walks of life for decades - the Internet and my job made that possible.

It's been two decades that I call the USA "the land of the brave and not so free"; most people I know don't understand what kind of suppression and abuse has been normalized, and how precarious, not just dependent, consumerism makes them. There are a few exceptions, of course.
