@Linux_in_a_Bit This is a problem everywhere, not just Linux. I used to belong to a clockmaker's group. I once saw someone ask, "Is WD-40 good for lubricating my clock?". The first answer posted was, "You must be the stupidest person on the planet." Yeah, I dumped that group.

Jeff Bezos is saying the quiet part out loud.@tokyo_0 @terminaltilt Yes, they do have higher specs, but using MS as an example: MS requirements:
-Comes with new NPU, CPU, and GPU powered silicone.
-Comes with Copilot.
--Has the Copilot key.But that PC runs AI the way your current PC "runs the internet". Very little of the function is local. It takes 10s of thousands of processors to run the simplest of AI processes. Hence the huge data centers.

Are we all millenials here or is that a misperception?@thordis Mid-Boomer. Too young for Woodstock so it's not fair to lump us in with them.

Jeff Bezos is saying the quiet part out loud.@tokyo_0 @terminaltilt AI PCs can't do AI Calculations locally. They simply have one-key access to AI. For instance a Microsoft AI computer has a Copilot key on the keyboard. All AI computing is done at data centers. No home computer has the power to do AI work.

I’ve posted this before, but in case you missed it…📍The eye of a hand sewing needle is larger on one side, than the other@BenitaSkinner I don't do much hand sewing, but hopefully I'll remember this next time I need it.

This has bugged me for years but I only just now finally got around to writing about it.@greenpete @badastro After making waffles. Doesn't everyone?

This has bugged me for years but I only just now finally got around to writing about it.@badastro I always 'kind of' knew about this issue. But when I worked in plastic films plant we had to check static charge on the rolls of film. It would regularly read 8-10 thousand volts, but all it would do is make the hair on your arm stand up. Meanwhile the 12 volt batter in your car can kill you. Fascinating stuff, electricity.
