Also don't say "Our new product [ThisThing] is available - it's like [ThatThing*]" - *I've never heard of ThatThing either, so saying it's "like" it is telling me nothing.

"I don't know which of those is which" - that's because the Americans, as usual, came along and made up their own definition of Gen X well after the fact of it being a thing elsewhere in the world (U.K. and Australia at a minimum, perhaps elsewhere as well), which was like 15ish years later than the original phenomenon, and, again as usual,
American Imperialism has been winning. I've seen U.S. articles describe them precisely, but gave them some other, lesser-known name -
