Minutes later, I was welcomed by @dillyd which has never happened on any other platform and was a wonderful introduction. So I posted a couple pictures of my #cats, and found, to my surprise, people reacting and interacting
Maybe it's because I'm not fighting an algorithm, or maybe I just found a place where folks truly appreciate cats. Either way, I'm very happy to be here, and I hope you're prepared for more cat pictures

My two cats love watching birds come to my window feeder, but when they get excited and jump at the window, the birds get scared and fly away.@StroomAfwaarts also true. Out-performed by a squirrel!

This disappoints my cats.
Squirrels, on the other hand, appear to understand glass, and show no fear as they sit in the feeder for anything up to an hour, while two predators stare at them and try to scratch through the glass to murder them.

I attached a bird feeder to the outside of my upstairs window@cR0w Merlin hasn't been up to the job. And it was quite rude when it called me an idiot who can't tell a bird from a squirrel

She's lying on a heated mat. She's lying on a heated mat.
We have two heated mats - one for each cat.
The reason she looks so happy is that she's on HIS heated mat.
The two mats are exactly the same, but she still takes every opportunity to steal his.

This is Molly. I tried to get her to raise her head for the picture by clicking my fingers in the air. I guess I clicked too high.

Its my first day on Mastodon, so I'm starting by introducing my cats. Its my first day on Mastodon, so I'm starting by introducing my cats.
This is Max. He's a black cat so photos are tricky - but here's one where he looks like he does in reality: the single most beautiful cat in the world (if you don't count all the other beautiful cats, which is all cats)

While I do, here's a picture of one of my cats sleeping in a totally normal position
