Abandoned Twitter couple years before I left Facebook. I left Facebook after getting a computer that was more capable than playing FarmVille, then WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook. Then there was a period with Google+ for me.

There was a gap time. Then I found about Mastodon, Fosstodon to be specific, which was founded by people who were active on G+.
I have been on Fediverse since 2019.

What did people think the "generative" in "Generative AI Tool" meant?

I fail to see how that is wrong. It is a computer program doing exactly what it was programmed to do. Its programmer doesn't know what exactly is in that code, doesn't change that fact.
