@Extra_Special_Carbon @markmetz Fungii are not plants. Mycelium contains chitin, lipids, and proteins that are all less hydrophilic than simple cellulose or cornstarch. One class of proteins in some mycelium are called “hydrophobins” which can form a hydrophobic coating.
