I had a nice surprise this week when I spied this yellow flower at the base of my Calathea Rufibarba. I've had it for years, and this is a first, a phenomenon that more often occurs in the wild, its native habitat of the Brazilian rainforest. She looks a little disorganized and needs a haircut, but I take this sign for happiness. She sits beside plants I've pulled in from the cold.

My little Dracena surculosa "Florida Beauty" is finally flowering. I bought her a few years ago when I lived in Orlando. I think she likes Daytona Beach and this window with her friends

Coming across this in my youtube feed, and doing the research, I find this is the historic cellist the movie HIlary and Jackie is based upon, starring Emily Watson and Rachel Griffiths. Emily Watson did an amazing job portraying Jacqueline du Pré, including her performances--the mannerisms and passion. Can we please, please have a reprise of the American-election-themed season of American Horror Story's "Cult." Maybe it came to be because 2016 seemed a one-off. I find horror comforting these days and AHS had that campy touch. Please give us an update, AHS.
