@not_even_wrong @Luke_Drury @jknodlseder @ZLabe When I talk to people about trees within 300 miles of the South Pole and sea levels, you know, like 50 feet higher than now at 400ppm, 3 or 4 million years ago, they mostly don't seem to already know about that. Long-term cooperative effort may be the bigger hurdle? This is consistent with human history (tragedy of the commons). *We* will have to evolve (emotionally, socially) to deal with the now irreversible climate disaster, huh?

Or is it more of an empathy problem, not being able to associate one's actions with harm/benefit to future people?
