@konstruct I saw an artist post a "DEAR GOD DON'T WRITE GOOD ALT TEXT! IT'S NOT HELPING HUMANS! It's what's gonna LET Artificial Intelligence GET BETTER AT LEARNING HOW TO DO ART!" argument.

I don't know them at all so I resisted posting "Oh look, someone used-to getting their butt kissed got asked to do an Alt Text and found a Real Bad argument to explain why they shouldn't ever have to care... didn't they?"

I'm a 44 year old American and what I think people don't want to acknowledge is that Americans will ABSOLUTELY shoot themselves in the foot if they believe they'll be able to put that foot on someone they don't like before they do.

Hell, if the economy is doing good enough... They'll be happy to stand on an *effigy* of someone they don't like and pull the trigger.
