One of my favourite moments of this festive period so far was on boxing day, after all of my family had opened their presents. My sister-in-law suggested we light a candle and share a minute of silence to remember Mum. No one thought to turn the music off. So we spent a few seconds solemnly thinking about Mum to a soundtrack of The Ronettes version of Frosty the Snowman, before I suggested that maybe someone should turn it off. Which made everyone break down laughing. So we then spent the next couple of minutes (because no one set a timer) thinking about Mum to a soundtrack of the dishwasher chuntering away and my niece quietly giggling next to me. It was wonderful. Mum would have loved it.
