@meljoann The only one that I can think of isn't even a main character - there's a necromancer in What We Do In The Shadows who sounds maybe Lancastrian?

Niche rant: you know what’s really annoying about #fantasy audiobook narration?@meljoann I had a phase of catching adverts for new Harry Potter audiobooks online (can't remember where). They were saying "Harry Potter like you've never heard it" and I was imagining RFK Jr as Ron Weasley, Brian Blessed as Hermione, Joe Pasquale as Harry, Alan Carr as Dumbledore.....
But I get your annoyance. There's a thing in advertising that "northern" accents (usually some generic Yorkshire / Lancashire crossover) are better trusted with focus groups.

Are you a #musician or #MusicProducer who uses #samples in their work, and uses sample packs (free or paid)?@etherdiver Oh, and I've snipped a couple of samples from some old video games, haven't worked with those yet.

Are you a #musician or #MusicProducer who uses #samples in their work, and uses sample packs (free or paid)?@etherdiver I sometimes use the free Music Radar samples packs, mainly for drums and sound effects, then I'll usually snip sounds and spoken word stuff from films, TV, news, documentaries and YouTube, anything really. I've used an online text-to-voice generator when I've wanted more control over what I want. Haven't done any foley stuff yet, I've not exhausted everything just yet.
