"expectation: you will walk down the street hailed by beautiful white women thanking you for Saving The Homeland
reality: a woman who looks exactly like your mom calls you a whiny bitch and the cute cashier gives you the finger and tells you to go fuck yourself and everyone laughs when you fall down."

"some of these dudes like playing keystone cop occupying army but no matter how much of a front they put on it wears on you to have everyone around you curse your name and relentlessly mock you
and a lot of the new guys are hopped up on twitter propaganda and aren't ready for it
keep it up."
Just re-watching the videos of the ICE guy slipping and falling full length on the ice to the cheers and jeers of onlookers and-- what a great example.
He signed up to feel like a big man in control of people who fear him. Instead he's lying in the cold street with a headache and dozens of strangers laughing at him, calling him names, and taking close-up photos of every second of humiliation.
To someone who counts on fear and intimidation to maintain control, laughter is terrifying.

Okay this is not theoretical but already researched quite a bit. Just to rewrite what I wrote elsewhere:
Because this is a *social ill*:
It takes material and social punishment.
That includes: boycotting, firing/not hiring, social exclusion, shunning, shaming, mocking, legal repercussions (financial and carceral), and violence.
This targets abusive behaviors and limits the damage the behaviors do.
There may or may not be attitude change, but harms are limited.

"Emily Heller, an eyewitness, is speaking out to set the record straight. Officers were screaming at Renee Nicole Good, 'Move, move, move.'
So she moved, and they shot her multiple times? Then Noem and Trump branded her a domestic terrorist. Does everyone see how absolutely insane that sounds?"

"Tonight, I was one of those gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil.
... almost immediately, I could hear people in the crowd weeping. Chicago is feeling this loss deeply, as if Renee were one of our own. There’s deep kinship among ppl doing ICE Watch/Rapid Response, from neighborhood to neighborhood and city to city."

"I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, an incompetent leader and disgrace to our democracy.
She wreaked havoc in Chicago area & brought reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot & killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.
She breaks rule of law and terrorizes communities. Impeaching her for violating public trust, obstructing Congress, and self-dealing:"

"This glib statement is all the more risible when you recall how many law enforcement officers used their vehicles as weapons against protesters in 2020... and how many Republican-dominated states *sought to legalize killing protesters with vehicles* as a reaction to the demonstrations."
Kristi Noem was one of the initial BSers to post disinformation about this event, claiming something like, there were ICE agents trying to get someone's stuck car out of the snow, and this driver just tried to run them over. It's brazen lies from start to end. Then at her press conference:

"The sheer number of videos of the shooting is horrific, but in the vein of what @ prisonculture social has been saying, it proves how many people cared enough to show up where ICE was and record them. It wasn't just one or two legal observers, and when Good was shot, they didn't abandon her."

"I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed occupants, arrested them, shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK.
People out at site right now blowing whistles and yelling at ICE are doing so KNOWING THEY WILL BE PHYSICALLY HARMED because what’s at stake is THAT IMPORTANT."
