Gosh I can not wait to finally have my own little Palm sync client for GNOME ready because this was painful to get to work

(And yes, JPilot works well too, but I need the Windows version specifically so that I can upgrade the Palm to OS 4.1)

Btw, if you're using a serial-to-USB adapter you need to install the VCP (Virtual COM port) drivers for your FTDI chip in Windows XP _and_ toggle that little "local" checkbox in the HotSync manager tray icon, else nothing happens when you press that sync button!

@pojntfx back in the day, I wrote a Palm application to help track time for service engineers at Sun. I wrote the sync module for the kandahar program that works on Solaris, and it was very easy to do. I don't remember the name of the sync software but it used Tk for the UI and synced with the CDE calendar beautifully.

@pojntfx yeah this has been a bear for me too.

I wanted to just setup a VM in proxmox, pass through the USB port, and run, but the fact this device doesn’t appear until I press the sync button and disappears immediately leads to issues even starting the VM up.

Was gonna just do something physical instead now but not there yet.

            Great seeing your progress!

@pojntfx amazing, will be following this. I have just put a new battery into my palm and would love to sync the calendar somehow.
