    @anneapplebaum

I would like to know what answer he expects from the Prime Minister. I fear that the fate of the world now depends on what answer he receives... 😉

The answer should be, if landing a boat is the measure of ownership, please leave the North American continent now. We got there first.

I am surprised that he did not write that he had never received an Emmy award.

        He must really have Alzheimer.

@Paul_stilgar @anneapplebaum I am not so surprised that he believes in all of this nonsense. We knew that already and he is not the only world leader with such opinions.

It's more surprising that he says this out loud. I am not a psychologist but maybe indeed this is some kind of defecit in inhibitory control related to aging

#DementiaDon has Frontal Lobe Dementia. That means he has lost what little inhibitions and control he once had, and can easily become obsessed with bizarre things.

#Dementia never ends well-- especially if the patient is allowed to keep working, and treated in the media and by those under them as if they are sane and reasonable.

#JDVance and the #GOPmajority will NEVER #invokethe25th to stop him. The Dems need to step up and do that for him, and stop WAITING for the midterms-- Donald's Dementia is too advanced and progressing quickly. People are going to die-- and already have. The world CANNOT wait until then.

@anneapplebaum He's got dementia and he's almost done. I doubt he even has a consistent reality at all.

He's long past the point where I'd want to be shot but I'd actually want to be stopped before I did all this damage. He never gave a shit who he hurt.

That's why I don't really feel sorry for him. Otherwise I actually might because he actually has lost his shit and it ain't coming back.

"If the invaders were Russians, they would arrest all of the politicians, put gangsters in charge, shoot people on the street for speaking Danish, change school curricula, and carry out a fake referendum to rubber-stamp the conquest. Is that the American plan too?"

Exactly this. Because Trump wants America to be like Russia. He'll send ICE and put all Danish people into labor camps. And Peter Thiel will be the governor.

77 million voted for this, and approximately 80 million did not vote at all.

more or less, these voters knew what they voted for or let it happen.

"Will Republicans in Congress ever step in?"
my guess is, no. even if republicans stop this orange nightmare, i give only partial pass, stopping should have happened far earlier.

@anneapplebaum I'm not sure even an invasion of Greenland would be a "last straw" for the GOP in Congress. Although some of them have said it would be, they've always fallen in line before.

My favorite absurdity in this letter is "we had boats landing there, also." The Danes (as part of Denmark-Norway) were there long before the US even existed.

BTW, I always love your articles. Thank you for what you do.

He would be perfectly happy if he could stay at Mar A Lago in his Oval Office replica signing things with an AI news feed telling him everyone loves him. A random set of actors could be paraded through and he'd never know they weren't dignitaries.

@cshlan @anneapplebaum I imagine there's a lot of that going on but also that he's hard to contain and he's being guarded by people who are going to see he gets his way until someone tells them he's incapacitated in a very official way.

It's only a partial coup at this point. The military and SS are still largely professionals even if the true believers are being removed. People would tell.

@anneapplebaum This is straight CRAZY. I can't believe the lengths GOP congressman and senators will go to secure an endorsement in a PRIMARY.

@anneapplebaum I used to think "running a country" required a decent amount of intelligence, skill, empathy, etc. Boy, was I ever wrong! 😱
