    @mntmn I know I'm digressing, but if it is not secret, I'm curious what they use for their directory/authentication server. FreeIPA?

      I don't know mntmn at all, but loking at the task:

      Knowing Linux well and using it all the time is different from porting a well-entrenched Windows user to Linux. Perhaps dedicated expertise is a useful thing to look for.

        @bjb @mntmn in my experience one does not port a windows user to Linux.
        Its more of a new start.
        In case it is about a business it depends heavily on what they do/ what software they depend on.

            @mntmn I'd suggest where the Berlin Linux Users Group meet on Wednesday evenings, Lehrter Straße 53.

            I went to a couple of their meetings a few months ago and the location is a small business community of Linux geeks, very knowledgeable. One of them is bound to be able to do this or point you in the right direction.

              @Hermetikoz @mntmn
              Paid help can be held accountable for getting the job done and would likely have insurance and follow correct procedure that would be required for a doctor or hospital system that needs to follow specific regulations and requirements.

              Following AI on your own, while it certainly can help you learn, is not something that can be held accountable if messes up your machine or loses data.
              For important business systems, paid help makes sense for liability and time reasons.

                @mntmn a) @topio in Moabit (https://www.topio.info/) are doing that for a donation.

                b) If in Schöneberg or very near Schöneberg, I can do it.

                    @mntmn The Technikmuseum Berlin seems to regularly organize Linux Cafes, I'm sure there are other non profits that do this as well in Berlin.
