Edit: they were my great great grandmas. My mother's mother's mother's mother, and my mother's father's mother's mother.
Wow, write that word enough times and it starts to look wrong.

@dillyd Very dark magic. I speak as one who never mastered the ancient art of "French knitting"; that thing with a cotton bobbin, four nails and some wool. Evil forces are gathering... 😉

@RussCheshire @dillyd When I found my grandma's lace bobbins (many years after her death) I had no clue what they were.

@dillyd Wow! It's so amazing when you're able to preserve something that your ancestors made, so special ❤️

I've posted these before but I was appreciating them again in the early morning sunlight today. Hand made by two of my great grandmas.
I don't want to use them on a bed and risk wearing them out, but I also don't want to keep them hidden away in storage.

@dillyd They’re lovely! Do you know how to quilt? It’s on my bucket list to learn someday.

@dillyd @lydiaschoch I (re)learned how to crochet with books and Youtube.
The basic building block of getting a loop through a loop (once or more) gives an infinite world of possibilities. The hardest part is spending enough time to get regularity. I like #crochet

@dillyd there's a technical term for this but I can't remember it. (You get the same effect if you /say/ the same word too many times in a row.)

@dillyd @lydiaschoch a wool shop in your neighbourhood is the first place were I would ask if they know someone. Many have a notice board. Or in a repair cafe that does textiles.
