Creativity is like a muscle. If you want to become more creative, you have to exercise it.

When I was in art school (years ago), we exercised every day to become more creative. Artists have to train to get there too. It's not magic or "talent," it's hard work.

When you use AI to give you "inspiration," you are doing the opposite of that. You are atrophying your creativity muscle.

If you want to become a creator, and become more creative, you should stop using AI entirely. Instead, start training your own genuine creativity. Otherwise, it will eventually dry off completely.

@Em0nM4stodon People who have attended CES keynotes for years say this year’s were notably lame and much worse than any past year they’ve attended. Hard to know why, so this is speculation, but I wonder if the AI companies (most of those doing the keynotes) are run by people who have atrophied notably over the last 365 days and now they are quite literally less able to do a keynote.

@kevinashworth I would not be surprised at all if that were the cause.

@Em0nM4stodon Yup. But to be fair, the kakistocracy could be a big cause, too. Fun times to have these two forces strolling hand in hand.

The standard is good old fashioned practice. Do it until you're proficient. Do it until you're good. Do it until you're great. Do it until you've mastered it, and then do it some more.
