GOG looking towards supporting Linux more going forward.

Everything happens eventually, we contacted them in like 2012 or 2013 while working on #PlayOnLinux, telling them that open operating systems would be the natural extension of their DRM-free policy, but received no echo.

@pango Hopefully the reorganization within the company is going to lead to some update on that sort of thing. The statements coming from the new (old) GOG people in charge seems promising.

It probably didn't make much commercial sense back then, but things change.
In any case that's a refreshing news, let's see how it turns out!

@pango That too. They just shifted ownership, technically, so I'm hopeful for some nice changes.

Linux is definitely in a much better place functionally speaking these days. The barrier to entry for the "average user" is much lower, which really helps adoption. Having Valve put so much push behind proton layer really removed a sticking point for a lot of people and is normalizing that "linux isn't just for tech nerds" stigma.

@isthereanydeal would be nice to have galaxy avail on Linux after all those years
