@brentsimmons RSS might be the best protocol ever invented. It's the backbone of modern podcasting and nobody even knows it. The fact that nobody knows about it shows how great it is. It never breaks, it hasn't been enshittified... It just silently works in the background without bothering anybody. That's how tech should work. The more you hear about something, the more it sucks... Take Meta for example. It's dystopian level bad at every level of their stack... Can't stay out of the news because it is always fucking something up. RSS would never do that to us.

In a forum you might get updates in only 5 threads but the rss feed is flooded with 50 items because about 10 new posts in each thread. Showing each thread only once with a shaded color to indicate it’s a group and a badge with the item count in each group. Tapping a group to expand/collapse or navigate to a list of items in that group.
