the "ph-" and "ph+" content warnings are for negative and positive information about one's physical health

these are not to be confused with the "pH-" and "pH+" tags, used to inform people as to whether one has become more acidic or basic respectively

@rnd no. Type out those 15 characters in the content warning, instead of trying to get a lot of people to use language the way you want to.

@szakib i understand, but also i think you should re-read my post and realize that it is a chemistry joke

i am not out here telling people that they should abbreviate words like "physical health" to two letters, but that is what is currently happening on fedi

@szakib i dunno, consider the cohort of people tooting regular health-update content. like, people with autoimmune diseases, mnd, pain disorders, people accessing fedi with assistive technologies etc.. 15 characters might be negligible to you, but others might have legitimate reasons for abbreviating where possible, like letting their mutuals know using devices is currently very painful for them and sorry they wont be interacting much for a little while. not every fedi niche needs to be for you.

@rnd why can't people just be bothered to type out content warnings in the first place though? Content warnings are obviously taken very serious here, so why have a barrier of entry by using abbreviations or accronyms on them?
If anything in your post should be clear and easy to understand, it should definitely be the content warning

@rnd why can't people just be bothered to type out content warnings in the first place though? Content warnings are obviously taken very serious here, so why have a barrier of entry by using abbreviations or accronyms on them?
If anything in your post should be clear and easy to understand, it should definitely be the content warning

@AbsentAbigail @rnd Anything posted in the content warning is included in the character limit, so if someone is on a server with a default 500-character post size, they might need to maximize the count for the content rather than the warning.
