order 1: what I need to do is spend more of my learning budget per day on utility and joy than on horror. to watch or read more book than news.
order 2: what I need to do is TRUST others to do the same or similar.

with more utility learned – that is, with more actionable knowledge in effect – our capability for ending the sources of horror is increased.
by learning of joy every day we protect ourselves from the horror, narrowing its scope.
a corralled prey can be hunted and killed more effectively. if we make the causes of horror in this world our prey, our species will regain an ecological function. currently we do not have one.
I think that would be a very good direction for us to take.
