Trump is now implying that Canada is dependent on the USA acquiring Greenland in order for it to gain “protection” under the “golden dome”.

"Protection" as in "Protection racket"
@EricLawton @chris @AnnaAnthro We're going to feel so protected when golden debris starts raining from the sky. I should really find out where to buy (or how to build) a geiger counter ...

@Dero_10 @chris I'm not an expert on Quebec politics but what I do know is that there is severe dissatisfaction with the two parties that are not the PQ and that an election win for the PQ is simply parking votes somewhere that doesnt anger them. Recent polls also tell us that 66% of Quebecois have zero interest in holding another referendum. The real seperatist problem is Alberta and that's because of continuing foreign interference.

It is time for Canada to end its participation in the Golden Dome and NORAD until the USA once again becomes a trustworthy global nation.
We cannot be dragged into complicity with international crimes.
It is time for Canadians to have a very very deep discussion about our military, our own expectations, and our neighbour. The days of “the longest unguarded border” are gone.
We need to consider a much more European stance. A much more Ukrainian stance.

@chris My relatives in Quebec feel their next election will be a landslide for the separatists. English people are still being forced out of province. Time will tell.
If we buy Saab and Bombardier builds them in Quebec, that will help Canada. (Some in Ontario as well to quiet Ford..)@Dero_10 @chris Voting for the PQ doesn’t necessarily mean you want Quebec to separate anymore. They’re two different issues. The PQ will probably win because of people dissatisfaction with the other two main options, but there is absolutely no movement towards separation right now—except in the PQ leader’s head. Any referendum would fail, and not by a thin margin.

@stephanie@ottawa.place @chris@mstdn.chrisalemany.ca That's because Carney is to Trump as Trump is to Putin.

https://www.trumpstruth.org/statuses/34583@chris Most of the EU borders are unguarded. In fact, in some places you cross the street and you're in another country!

Addendum: and the first thing we need to do to shore up our own borders, is have a long talk with Alberta about ending this separation talk and coming together as Canadians. #canpoli #cdnpoli #usa #nato #norad #russiaUkraineWar #theAmericanFascist
@chris The issue with Alberta is that it’s saddled with a government *of* the talk radio and Facebook conspiracy theorists, *by* the talk radio and Facebook conspiracy theorists, *for* the talk radio and Facebook conspiracy theorists.

@Beltliner403 ain’t that the truth. An election cannot come soon enough, even if it isn’t guaranteed the NDP will pull it off

@BackFromTheDud between neighbours, friends and allies. It doesn't happen with (most) EU external borders.

@chris@jt_rebelo Why do the Right use the word "Internationalist" as an insult? I'd rather "International Cooperation" than Tr*mps "Globalist Dictatorship". Am I the weird one? @chris

@BackFromTheDud words have different meanings to them and cooperation between Peoples is a direct threat to their miniscule world views (others only exist to be submitted to their will). MAGA to me means #MakeAmericaGoAway .

@jubiloMX yes please!

@fsinn the one problem with that headline is that it doesn’t mention it’d be a disaster for Canada too

@chris Yes, agreed, but I don’t think Canadians are the target audience.

@chris I have another piece written by an American, also saying this would be a very bad thing for the -U.S. to try. If I find it I’ll delete this and link it here.
