Fuck, I have to change my opinion on leaf blowers.

@rootwyrm @wackJackle even magazines taped around your torso and arms etc can mitigate the compounding pain from the pepperball impacts and other minor impacts as well
have a GOOD respirator and if it has a face cover make sure its REAL SHIT shatter proof otherwise its literally more dangerous to wear than not.
there is so much good advice, i really should keep a list of links.
just... find competent people doing real shit, follow advice, observe, learn, adapt. research!
@0x00string @wackJackle at this point, I only recommend 3M full face 600 series with the P100 multi-layers. Especially since they're intentionally using stuff that isn't N95 covered. Full face only, and if you wear glasses, you need the glasses adapter kit. Not cheap, but completely rebuildable no matter the damage.

@rootwyrm @wackJackle im noting this, thank you! i personally know that my respirators would get me blinded and disfigured if i took damage in them, i leave them at home, i leave glasses at home too because i dont trust that they wouldnt also become blinding confetti

@0x00string @wackJackle the 3M stuff I recommend is designed to protect your face including glasses without injury. But you MUST get the glasses kit to ensure the seal fits correctly. This gear is for most people, very prohibitively expensive.

@rootwyrm @wackJackle it says those are the carbonate plastic and its impact resistant up to some standard, ive read a lot about face masks shattering from baton rounds or grenade rounds and causing severe damage beyond the impact - is this carbonate the one people worry about? i dont have any documentation of these statements though

@wackJackle did not realize this is AI generated. Unboosted. I was there in Portland in 2020. Leaf blower dads directly behind me as all the moms stood frontline.
Sad you have to cheapen it with slop.
Shameful.

@TheJen@beige.party OP doesn't seem willing to mark this as AI, so we applied a mandatory CW to their account. Would recommend that other instances take similar action.

@Heliograph New evidence surfaces in the case for leaf blowers!
@chrisp
yes I saw that and for a moment had the entire full future movie in my head of everyone wearing little electric leafblower pistols on a leather holt as outdoor clothing, for protection, and they might not only push air but also sonic
I dropped off somewhere there -
@Su_G @wackJackle most important things are be safe and build solidarity, if you do those you can learn the rest on the job
@0x00string @wackJackle
Hearteningly good comment - everyone can start somewhere

Are you allowed to wear them openly?
Asking for a friend.

@mad All your questions are answered in the thread but people are argueing and blocking me for quoting an AI picture.
That was a really good lesson for me. I don't fucking care anymore. Have fun, enjoy your life, enjoy the technofascist governments before it all comes down.
Doom is the answer; leftists are as stupid as anyone else.

@0x00string @wackJackle also, don't be the Gestapo dipshits. T-shirt, body armor, sweatshirt, jacket, flak vest.
Corrugated polycarbonate is available at Home Despot and Lowes. Twin wall is also fairly solid. It'll be in roofing. 60 degree drill bit is best for working on it. (Pay cash.)
Harbor Freight often has tarps AND leaf blowers on sale. It's a good leaf blower. The tarps are adequate and $80 for the giant heavy duty 9mil, basic blue 4mil 5.5' x 7.5' blue is $3.50, 7.5' x 9.5' is $4.@rootwyrm @0x00string @wackJackle
Judging by the discussion, sounds like civil war to me.

@clock @rootwyrm @0x00string @wackJackle Speaking of armor, expect to see it on more of us real soon. I saw a few helmets tonight in Orlando
