    How is "greed is human nature" an argument *for* capitalism?

    Lets say 100% of people are greedy and egoistic. That means that 99% of people should be against capitalism and for anarcha-socialism or however you call a just system.

    Human nature is not the reason for capitalism.
    Propaganda is.

      @PaulaToThePeople

      Using "human nature" as an excuse for an entire economic system is wrong.

      Aggression, tribalism, and deception are all technically "human nature" too. We have spent thousands of years building laws and social rules specifically to stop those traits from ruining everything. We don't just throw our hands up and say, "Well, people are naturally violent, so let’s build a society based on street brawls."

      Civilization is basically the history of us trying to outsmart our own worst instincts. If we can build systems to keep our natural urge to hit each other in check, there’s no reason we can't do the same for greed. Just because an impulse is "natural" does not mean it's a good foundation for a society.
