Just installed #immich at home, that was on my TODO.md for a long time.
I self host a lot of things, but for photos I always thought cloud is the most sensible option for me. My opinion changed recently.Now waiting for the originals download before using immich-go to push them to the server. Storage is on a fast SSD array and I've set up hardware transcoding and machine learning on the RTX A1000 so my expectations are high.

Uploaded ~65GB of media over breakfast (go-immich was way faster than I expected), now #immich is doing it's thing with CPU+GPU.

@moreentropy Vielleicht doofe Frage, aber was wird da transcodiert? Bzw. was machen CPU und GPU?
Ich überlege, hier auch mal Immich an den Start zu bringen auf meinem Proxmox, damit ich auch ein Backup von meinen Fotos habe
allerdings ist mein Proxmox-Host nicht besonders mächtig 🫣
