While still not exactly optimistic, the almost nihilistic tendencies of their 2013 debut, Silence Yourself, had faded.
“It’s harder to say ‘adore life’ rather than being angry and frustrated,” Thompson suggests. “It’s easier to be negative about things than to embrace what you have, and to wake up and be like ‘Oh, I’m healthy…’ - simple things.”
