Gave 5 bucks and a handwarmer to an unhoused person today. The first thing they did when they realized I was addressing them? They introduced themself with their name. I am grateful to know it.
It wasn't much help, but they were very grateful. I know that corner would think it isn't a great place to ask for money. The way they responded made me think they hadn't had too much help from passers by.If you are given the opportunity to go slightly out of your way to help someone, please do!

Helping someone doesn't have to be "huge", "completely life changing", or cost a lot of money - even if it is small, or what you can do in the moment, it makes a difference. Every bit of kindness we each put out tells the world that we refuse to let it be as bad as it can be or often is - it reduces harm even a bit - and that is something we can all do!
