@Edent wise
@MamaLake isn't that just direct bank transfer? Or do they have a specific pay link? I've got an account but haven't played with it.

@Edent Patreon? I also use GitHub sponsorships, and I've used Ko-Fi a couple of times for one-offs.

@Edent Web Monetization.
Don't know how, though. And It shouldn't be automated - I think. -

@Edent @MamaLake @derickr I guess wise has the advantage that it might be easier for non-UK people to pay you if you have USD/EUR etc. accounts in there.
The "pay me" links are quite common these days although I haven't used them on my Wise account. My HBOS current account has them as well (their app can also show a QR code of the link too which is quite cool)

@Edent Definitely PayPal, as it's easy, has no fees, and doesn't involve any sharing of bank details between us.
(although I would most likely just buy you a drink in the pub the next time we're at the same event

@Edent
Inside the EU and in Euro, I prefer a SEPA money transfer: cheap (actually free), fast, ... . But I guess that is not an option here -

@pwaring @kristoff @Edent That's not always available. I don't know the details, but I remember having trouble sending money fee-free from my EU PayPal account to someone else's UK PayPal account. And I also remember seeing fees in receipts sometimes when people send money to me.
Also, PayPal is one of those services that refuses to understand that some people bank in (and possibly are a citizen of) more than one country. Having multiple accounts violates their T&C, but a single account can only be associated to one country (the initial one, it's not even possible to change it).
As someone affected by this, I would advise against PayPal. Wise or Revolut or both would probably be my goto today. -

In a couple of the EU contries (BE, NL, FR, DE), there now is the "weero" services that allows you to transder money from one account to another for free with your normal banking-app.
It rides on top of the SEPA instant money-transfer sceme

@Edent Ko-Fi or Liberapay would be my go-to! I particularly appreciate Liberapay for being very nice and simple

@Edent
Some payment processors provide direct-payment pages, like I have one set up on Stripe, where people can directly pay with their credit card, no account required. I think PayPal works similarly these days, so there's less benefit (aside from.people who avoid PayPal specifically). -

@Edent I really wish Web Monetization took off, that would be perfect for this sort of thing (either "drip" some fractional cents for favs, or have "super favs" where one could drop some change). These days I do Ko-fi or similar mostly for artists I follow, and the ones I really like I have a monthly subscription for.

@Edent Wise

Alternatively Stripe donation links are good for offering essentially every possible option
