I'm only in for 30 minutes, but so far #Fluxer is a VERY promising #Discord alternative.

…it's basically a carbon copy UI/UX wise, but in beta.
And self-hostable FOSS (AGPLv3), with planned E2EE and federation. So Discord but better (at least that's the idea it seems), if the project succeeds.Didn't try self-hosting yet (most likely will mostly reside on the main server until it exists, pushing for it).
I'm highly intrigued. Recommend testing it out yourself!

https://fluxer.appTo say the most important things:
- DMs work
- Communities work
- Voice channels work
- Video sharing currently broken on Linux
- Global hotkeys *seem* to work (incl. Wayland, it requested two of them)
- File-sharing works
- UI/UX sometimes a little bit buggy, but even when someone "visually" drops from a call they're actually still there
- 2FA work fine
- There's standard noise reduction for audio (not as good as Crisp, but good enough)Very good for "Beta 0.0.8".

This morning I just skimmed over the website and had this "Open Source demo with closed-source paywalled featureset as marketing strategy"-feeling I had all too often with several tools. But in this case when I checked the github sources, I was convinced that this was more a thing to finance the project itself, not to fix people into yet another vendor lock-in. Definately going to check that one out for myself.I mean they use LiveKit as Audio/Video backend and I already have that running for our Foundry instance that we use for Pen and Paper RPGs. So fluxer fits nicely into my existing setup.

@Laberpferd Fluxer seems to already have to backend planned necessary for bridges (at least it's a visible menu in the UI). I'd bet Matrix and Discord will be among the first services to have a bridge to Fluxer being created for by someone.
