    Weight-loss drugs could save airlines a fortune in fuel costs. As passengers slim down, planes will need less juice to generate the thrust needed to fly: a new study predicts that the annual saving for the four largest US carriers – American, Delta, Southwest and United – could soon total a whopping $580m.

      @kibcol1049 Interesting theory.
      It's a huge cash windfall for big pharma because to get full benefits you may need to take Ozempic for life. New studies show that most people regain all of their lost weight within 18 months of stopping the drug.

        @Barbramon1 @kibcol1049 This is true, i'm probably going to restart because after a couple of months i've already gained back 10 lbs.
        My main concern (why i stopped) is getting sufficient nutrients. Plus Ozempic butt xD

          @PopTarts @kibcol1049 There are a number of concerns re long term use of the drug. I have a couple diabetic friends who are using as part of a therapeutic regime and are apparently doing well.
          However, current US government is pushing use of Ozempic for weight loss, and I do not trust current CDC to tell the truth about potential dangers of very long term use.
          FYI, Ozempic butt is not just cosmetic. Among other things, it reduces the volume of gluteal muscle. Weak glutes are a big problem.

            i worked at a compounding pharmacy for a while

            some people end up in the hospital after taking 1 or 2 doses

            these drugs are not benign

            also, some people take so much that they look emaciated
