I have a friend that likes Audible more than Libro FM because he told me Audible is easier than downloading an MP3 zip folder or a single M4B without DRM. I just had someone unironically tell me that buying from audible and then removing the DRM is easier than buying the DRM free audiobook and just downloading the DRM free option when LibroFM has the book in question. This one small conversation made me lose all respect for tech. #DRM

@chiraag You can imagine my reaction. I haven’t replied yet. I thought it was a matter of not having the book in question, but the book is there, and it’s very easy you just go to the library and download either the MP3 or the M4B. At first I thought he was trolling me, but he’s 100% serious. It kind of reminds me of the people that are so used to putting up with enshittification so they’ve worked a whole system around the shit and if you deviate from that routine, that’s when things get complicated for them, but just yikes on a whole new level.
